Simon is the co-founder of Wave-tricity and the inventor of the Power Oar and OWR. Starting with an electrical and electronics engineering apprenticeship in the Royal Navy, this far reaching marine engineering qualification covered all areas of ships engineering and maintenance. Simon then took this excellent grounding and moved to the commercial world and the software sector where he grew, sold and floated a number of software development, product and services companies based around his own ideas and IP. Simon also embarked upon the largest motorsport change program in the UK for a generation. Returning home to Cornwall, Simon co-founded E-tricity in early 2010, which led the way in solar and biomass renewables.

Obtaining a Graphic Design degree, Melanie started her career in publishing, becoming one of the youngest editors of a national title. She then moved into fashion, creating her own label – a company that she ran for more than a decade. After a career break, Melanie then headed up Marcomms for a global children’s toy company working alongside companies such as Disney Pixar before co-founding E-tricity.
